WAITING FOR YOU TO COME TOO
Waiting for You to Come Too asks the question : What remains?
Painter Renee Silva and video artist Keaton Fox both grew up in coastal communities - Boston and Miami, respectively - and have spent the majority of their lives imaging the impending doom of global warming and the way it will affect the places they've called home. WFYTCT visualizes this future.
Through imagery of submerged homes, everyday objects, and visuals pulled from The Sims, this work contemplates the connections between individuals, land, and community. In a post-digital society marked by environmental flux and individualistic tendencies, it underscores the enduring significance of tenderness and argues that the ephemeral everyday remains are the ones that matter most.
This artwork is part of an on-going collaboration called FeverDreamScapes - a project in which video artist Keaton Fox and painter Renee Silva experiment with painting and video to create an uncanny effect.
